A one-time bonus check in the amount of $1,500 will be given to qualified teachers in the Fort Smith School District in Arkansas in time for the Christmas break.
The bonuses are expected to relieve the stress that nearly all of the Fort Smith public school teachers have been experiencing as a result of coping with the coronavirus pandemic
and adjusting to remote learning.
According to Talk Business, the school board approved the $1,500 bonus checks in May.
They are expected to be distributed by December 15th.
The Certified Salary Schedule, which increases teachers' pay by $3,471.81 annually, or 5.89%, for the current school year, will also be beneficial to them.
As long as inflation stays high going into next year, the bonus payments will probably be a helpful boost for qualified teachers.
