Stimulus update: Direct Payments of $800

South Carolina residents who have filed their 2021 tax returns are eligible for a $800 rebate.

The amount of the rebate will be determined by the filer's tax liability in 2021.

According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, people with tax liabilities less than $800 will receive a rebate equal to their tax liability,

while those with tax liabilities equal to or greater than $800 will receive exactly $800.

People who filed their 2021 SC Individual Income Tax return (SC 1040) by October 17 will be eligible for this rebate before the end of the year.

If you received your 2021 refund via direct deposit, you will receive this rebate in the same bank account.

People who file their returns after October 17 have until February 15 of the following year to file their returns in order to receive this rebate.

They will then be reimbursed in March 2023.
