Residents of South Carolina who have submitted their 2021 tax returns won't have to wait more than two weeks to get a refund of up to $800.
Recipients will receive a rebate based on their 2021 tax liability,
or the amount remaining after all tax credits have been applied to the income tax they owe.
According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue,
taxpayers with tax liabilities of up to $800 will receive exactly $800 in rebates,
while those with tax liabilities of less than $800 will receive rebates equal to their tax obligations.
Before the end of the year, those who submitted their 2021 SC1040 by October 17 will receive this rebate.
Anyone who had a direct deposit refund for 2021 will get this rebate in the same account.
According to state law, the maximum amount that individuals can receive from this rebate is $800, which has been set by the Department of Revenue.
For the purpose of receiving this rebate, anyone who has not yet filed their returns has until February 15 of the following year to do so.
It will then be delivered to them in March 2023.
