Social Security update: Payments $1,755

Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive their second of two December payments in three weeks,

bringing the 2022 calendar to a close and kicking off the payment schedule for the following year.

The Social Security Administration estimates that qualified claimants will receive a total of $1,755 in payments for the month of December,

with their first payment of $841 arriving on December 1 and their second payment of $914 arriving on December 30.

These are the months of January, May, and October.

Eligible couples will receive two $1,261 payments in December, with the amount increasing to $1,371 in 2023.

Essential persons, defined as someone who lives with a Supplemental Security Income recipient and provides necessary care, will receive a $421 payment and a $458 payment on the same days.

December is one of these months because January 1, 2023 is a weekend holiday.

This type of double payment will take place in March, June, September, and December 2023.
